Electronics Engineer Role

We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our team at Raytheon UK, working on the development of Digital GPS Anti-Jam Systems for the military market. The successful candidate will be based at our Harlow facility and will report directly to the APNT Hardware/Firmware Engineering Lead.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop digital electronic systems, including schematic generation, PCB design, and component selection.
  2. Collaborate with system engineers to develop architectures for electronic subsystems.
  3. Ensure compliance with relevant standards and develop requirements for design documentation.
  4. Work with embedded software engineers and mechanical engineers to integrate designs into products.
  5. Generate supporting design documentation and perform regular technical reviews.
Candidate Requirements:

Essential:

  1. Experience with embedded digital electronics and microprocessor systems.
  2. Experience of working with ADC/DAC, Memory technologies.
  3. Experience working with FPGAs and SoC technologies.
  4. Experience designing PCBs in conformance with defence engineering standards/airborne standards.
  5. Experience in designing for manufacture.
  6. Able to present technical information clearly and concisely to others.
  7. Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. An openness to learn and try new techniques.
  9. Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment - working independently or with others to overcome obstacles.
  10. Capable of analysing and reporting on technical data.
  11. Eligible or holder of current SC security clearance.

Desirable:

  1. Experience of working with the Xilinx chip family.
  2. Familiarity with the application of a systems engineering approach across the design and development life cycle.
  3. Experience using the Mentor Xpedition PCB design tool and SPICE.
  4. Experience creating DO254 compliant electronic systems.
  5. APNT systems domain knowledge and/or experience in a similar field.

Understanding of environmental requirements (shock, vibration, EMC, etc.), experience applying these requirements to a design and experience testing for these requirements.
