We are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Mechanical Construction Manager to oversee a significant data centre initiative.


Role Overview
As the Mechanical Construction Manager, you will take charge of managing, guiding, and supervising a team of skilled tradespeople and subcontractors. Your primary objective will be to ensure that safety protocols, quality standards, and project timelines are consistently achieved.


You will work closely with the Mechanical Project Manager and collaborate with other site team members to successfully deliver a state-of-the-art data centre project.


With a legacy of excellence, Salter Grange Limited has established a strong reputation for reliability and expertise in handling technically demanding projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee site safety in collaboration with the Safety Advisor.
  • Conduct daily and weekly toolbox discussions.
  • Manage site quality assurance alongside the Mechanical Package Manager.
  • Assist in updating the Project Schedule in coordination with other trades and relevant stakeholders.
  • Facilitate on-site coordination of activities with various trades.
  • Supervise all daily operations on site.
  • Oversee subcontractor activities, ensuring progress aligns with the schedule.
  • Participate in site meetings, internal project reviews, and engineering assessments.
  • Engage in system walkdowns, both internal and client-facing.
  • Manage and resolve all punch list items.
  • Ensure the use of correct revision drawings for construction tasks.
  • Prepare a weekly look-ahead schedule ensuring coordination with other trades.
  • Issue internal weekly progress updates.
  • Schedule and monitor material deliveries in line with the project timeline.


Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 6 years' experience in a Mechanical Construction Manager role.
  • Experience in Process Piping on large-scale projects.
  • Proven track record in delivering large projects within the data centre sector or similar industries.
  • Strong understanding of the design and construction processes.
  • Ability to effectively manage personnel and project timelines.
  • Professional certification or trade qualification.
  • Willingness to travel and work on-site as required.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and managing extensive projects.
  • Excellent communication abilities.
  • Capability to perform well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Proficient in computer applications including Windows, MS Office, and MS Project.
