Job Description

Role Overview

GSL Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Southampton. As a key member of the school community, you will play a vital role in supporting teachers and students in Key Stage 1 and 2.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to deliver high-quality lesson plans and support student learning
  • Provide individualized support to students, including tutoring and behavior management
  • Assist with classroom management, resource allocation, and assessment
  • Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols and participate in professional development opportunities
  • Adapt to various tasks as needed to contribute to the school's educational objectives

Requirements

  • Hold the right to work in the UK
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

  • In-depth knowledge of the primary school curriculum and teaching methodologies
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine passion for education
  • Ability to craft engaging and inclusive lesson plans
  • An enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online Update Service or be willing to process a new application
  • Excellent team spirit and good behavior management skills
  • Strong command of the curriculum and a commitment to safeguarding and child protection
