Our client, a leading blockwork, brickwork, and masonry contractor, is seeking an experienced Design Manager to join their team. With a strong presence in the UK market, they have been involved in numerous high-profile projects, including the Crossrail Projects, the Olympic Stadium, and various Health Centres, Shopping Centres, and School Academies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the design process, ensuring contractual awareness and technical expertise.
- Support clients in understanding and advising on design requirements and obligations.
- Act as a focal point for all design-related issues, from pre-construction to completion.
- Ensure design information is of the right quality and on time.
- Strive to eliminate health and safety risks during construction.
- Ensure the design process recognizes current legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
- Liaise with design consultants, statutory bodies, subcontractors, and client teams.
Requirements
- Proven Design Management or Design Coordination experience.
- CAD proficiency.
- HND/Degree level in a construction-related subject (preferred).
- Main Contractor experience working within masonry.
- Detailed understanding of construction methods, Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
- Ability to plan, organize, and manage all aspects of the design.
- Knowledge of current building regulations.
