Job Description

Job Title: Senior Hardware Engineer

Company: G&H | ITL

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at G&H | ITL. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge hardware solutions for our life sciences and medical products.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Design and Development: Design and develop digital and analogue electronics and firmware for our products, from concept through to production, taking into account requirements, timescales, cost, and regulatory constraints.
  • System Architectural Design: Develop system architectural designs and concepts, working closely with colleagues across the business.
  • Schematic and Board Layout: Create schematics and board layouts using Altium Designer CAD tool.
  • Prototype Build and Test: Build, test, and fault-find prototypes, ensuring they meet the required specifications.
  • Specification and Requirements Capture: Capture and document specifications and requirements for our products.
  • Hands-on Soldering and Fault Finding: Perform hands-on soldering and fault finding tasks.
  • EMC and Electrical Safety Compliance: Support EMC and electrical safety compliance, including cost model generation and ROHS analysis.
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance and oversight to junior engineers, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Digital and Analogue Design Experience: Proven experience in digital and analogue design.
  • Embedded Programming Experience: Experience in embedded programming, including 'C' and FPGA VHDL.
  • Programming Languages: Proficiency in C++,.net, C#, Java, Python, or algorithm development.
  • CAD Experience: Familiarity with CAD tools for schematic capture and PCB layout, with a preference for Altium.
  • EMC Compliance: Knowledge of EMC compliance design techniques and safety standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey technical information confidently and clearly.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Leadership: Willingness to take on leadership roles and contribute to the growth and development of the R&D department.
