Job Summary:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tutor to provide educational support to students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a 1:1 setting. The successful candidate will work with students who have been out of mainstream education for some time and require support with their core subjects, Maths and English.

About the Role:

The Tutor will be responsible for assessing the current ability of the students and reintroducing education into their routine. Lessons will take place either in a local library or the student's home. The ideal candidate will have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a strong understanding of SEN, as well as experience working with students who have ADHD and autism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 Maths and English support to students with SEN
  • Assess the current ability of students and develop a personalized learning plan
  • Reintroduce education into the student's routine and provide ongoing support
  • Work with students who have been out of mainstream education for some time
  • Collaborate with local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for students

Requirements:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with SEN, particularly those with ADHD and autism
  • Strong understanding of SEN and its impact on education
  • Ability to work in a 1:1 setting and adapt to the needs of individual students
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
