Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Surgical Practitioner to join our Robotic Theatre team, covering Colorectal, General Surgery, Gynecology, and Upper GI Surgery. The Theatre case mix is challenging, with specialties including Upper and Lower GI, General Surgery, Urology, Maxillofacial, Head and Neck, ENT, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Elective and Trauma Orthopaedics, Emergency Theatres, Day Surgery, and Paediatrics, as well as Robotic surgery.

Main Duties

The successful candidate will provide expert assistance and support in robotic surgery to Consultant Surgeons, SPRs, theatre staff, and patients involved in robotic surgery. This will include providing a nurse specialist/Surgical First Assistant qualified nurse/Surgical First Assistant (SFA) role, guiding and supporting health professionals with advanced-level knowledge concerning specific diseases/conditions, and demonstrating significant advanced knowledge and skills within the speciality and sphere of practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert assistance and support in robotic surgery to Consultant Surgeons, SPRs, theatre staff, and patients involved in robotic surgery.
  • Support training within the Robotic surgery theatre team.
  • Lead and provide training and education across the organisation in relevant areas of practice.
  • Have corporate identity as an expert within the specialist area of robotic surgery.
