Job Description

TalentHawk is seeking a highly skilled Business Intelligence Developer to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will play a crucial role in championing the use of Power BI across the organization, delivering next-generation reports and insights that drive business performance and strategic decision-making.

Data Integration and Transformation

  • Develop and manage advanced BI solutions using Power BI and Fabric, ensuring seamless data integration and transformation.
  • Perform ETL processes to integrate data from various sources, maintaining data quality and integrity.

Report and Dashboard Development

  • Design and create interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI, leveraging business requirements to inform technical specifications.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable insights, driving data-driven decision-making.

Data Modeling and Analysis

  • Build efficient data models and schemas, ensuring data accuracy and reliability.
  • Conduct complex data analysis to uncover trends and insights, driving business growth and improvement.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to understand objectives, ensuring alignment and effective communication.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI, ensuring seamless adoption and utilization.

Performance Optimization

  • Optimize dashboards and reports for performance and scalability, ensuring efficient data processing and analysis.
  • Implement data management and governance best practices, maintaining data quality and integrity.

Technical Documentation

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for BI solutions, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Troubleshooting and Support

  • Monitor and troubleshoot BI solutions for accuracy and reliability, ensuring seamless data delivery.

Innovation and Improvement

  • Stay updated on the latest BI technologies and trends, driving innovation and improvement.
  • Continuously enhance BI processes and solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and Power Query, with a strong understanding of data modeling and analysis.
  • Strong SQL skills and familiarity with ETL processes, ensuring seamless data integration and transformation.
  • Ability to derive actionable insights from complex data sets, driving business growth and improvement.
  • Experience translating business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring effective communication and alignment.

Project Management

  • Ability to manage workloads and prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring timely delivery and high-quality results.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, driving collaboration and innovation.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or related field, with a strong foundation in data analysis and modeling.
  • Relevant certifications in Power BI or data analytics, demonstrating expertise and commitment.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years in a similar BI role, with a proven track record of deploying BI solutions.
  • Experience in the UK Energy Supply or Utilities industry, with a strong understanding of business objectives and requirements.
