We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Apprentice Mechanical and CNC Engineer to join our team at James Gray Recruitment.
Job Responsibilities:- Developing Client Briefs: Work closely with the Senior Engineer and Client to create detailed briefs of their mechanical and electrical building services requirements, producing reports that demonstrate a clear understanding of the Client's needs.
- Options Appraisal: Conduct thorough options appraisals and produce reports justifying recommendations to ensure client sign-off of brief.
- Project Team Management: Assist Senior Engineers in managing multidisciplinary project teams to deliver all internal aspects of the programme.
- Design and Delivery: Develop effective working relationships with the wider design team to ensure the construction project meets the client's needs.
- Tender Process: Manage the tender process to select the most appropriate contractors to deliver the project.
- Commercial Management: Assist in managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring effective cost controls and providing advice on project finances.
- Commissioning and Validation: Validate the commissioning process to ensure all products and services meet the required specifications.
- Handover and Review: Ensure the effective handover of the project from the contractor and conduct a review of H&S and risk assessments.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge of products and services to provide the best advice to clients.
Requirements:
- Degree qualified in an engineering subject with the ability to gain chartered status.
- Chartered Engineer status or working towards becoming Chartered is desirable.
- Experience of substantial, complex construction projects.
- Experience of working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages, including Excel and email.
- Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering systems.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies and low carbon design.
- Knowledge of Planning legislative requirements.
- Knowledge of specification, simulation and modelling techniques such as AutoCAD, IES, ESPR, NES, SBEM/SAP.
