We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Designer to join our award-winning Art department at Penguin Michael Joseph. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing captivating book covers and interiors for our illustrated non-fiction titles.
Key Responsibilities- Design book covers and interiors for illustrated non-fiction titles, including cookery, self-help, fashion, and gift books.
- Work closely with the publishing teams, Production, Editorial, Sales, and Marketing to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
- Attend weekly covers meetings and provide art direction for photoshoots.
- Select images for layout and ensure high-quality visual content.
- Collaborate with external suppliers, freelancers, photographers, and illustrators to deliver exceptional results.
We are looking for a talented Designer with experience working on illustrated books, preferably in adult non-fiction. You should have a strong understanding of InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, as well as a keen eye for typography and type hierarchies.
You will be a creative problem-solver, able to work independently and as part of a team, and possess excellent communication and project management skills.
