Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Claims Handler to join our team at Hastings Direct. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of claims, ensuring that they are handled efficiently and effectively, and providing excellent customer service to our policyholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of claims, including assessing and evaluating claims, making decisions on liability and quantum, and negotiating settlements with claimants and third-party providers.
  • Provide excellent customer service to policyholders, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, including underwriters, brokers, and claims specialists, to ensure that claims are handled efficiently and effectively.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of insurance products, policies, and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Identify and report any potential risks or issues related to claims, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in claims handling, preferably in the insurance industry.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external parties.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
