Role Purpose
The Production Engineering Specialist plays a crucial role within the Operations Office, acting as a liaison between the Project Management Office, clients, and the Production team. This position reports to the Head of Production and collaborates closely with the engineering and project teams.
The daily responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to, evaluating technical content from customer requests for quotations (RFQs), developing quotes and the quoting system, engaging with clients on Design for Manufacture (DFM) and other relevant topics, and collaborating with in-house Production and Quality teams to establish manufacturing methods that meet client specifications. Additionally, this role will be pivotal in Continuous Improvement initiatives and other essential tasks aimed at enhancing performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
- Contribute production engineering and machining expertise to the Operations Office
- Analyze technical drawings and specifications to determine manufacturing methods that facilitate accurate quoting in response to customer RFQs
- Assess technical drawings and specifications to inform job routing inputs in the Company Production Control Software System
- Organize and conduct trials of new and innovative production techniques and tooling, collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders as necessary
- Address manufacturing and quality challenges related to both new and existing production components
- Engage with internal colleagues (Head of Production, CAD office, Cell Leaders, Machine Operators & Inspection) to share information and achieve company objectives through teamwork
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on a day-to-day basis

Knowledge and Experience
- Background in Project, Production, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering (experience at an OEM or Tier 1 level is preferred)
- Proven experience in solving complex engineering problems within a project context
- Degree or equivalent qualification in an Engineering discipline
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are essential
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Understanding and interest in subtractive manufacturing processes and procedures
- Ability to interpret and understand engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience in organizing, prioritizing, and problem-solving

Compensation: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per annum
