**Head of Grid Connections**
We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our grid connections process for new solar, battery energy storage, and co-located projects. As the Head of Grid Connections, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating the grid connections process from preliminary site identification to construction and operation.
Key Responsibilities:- Site Selection and Pre-Application: Assist in the selection of new sites, lead pre-application calls with distribution and transmission network operators, and foster working relationships.
- Application Documentation and Review: Prepare application documentation and review received offers, providing technical advice to the development and management teams to ensure projects have technically and commercially sound connection agreements.
- Grid Support Services: Maintain a network of consultants to provide technical grid support services.
- Engineering and Financial Modelling: Work with project management and business development teams to ensure all engineering factors are accounted for during the development process and determine and optimize grid-related financial modelling inputs for ongoing projects and acquisition opportunities.
- Project Tendering and Documentation: Support project tendering, reviewing documentation, and providing input at the concept design, detailed design, and construction phases.
- ICP Tender Documentation and Assessment: Develop ICP tender documentation to be issued for each connection type and assist in the assessment of ICP tender proposals.
- Construction and Testing: Support the construction team by coordinating and witnessing testing activities, analyzing plant performance, and working proactively with network while maintaining compliance.
- Renewable Energy Experience: Experience of working on renewable generation projects, ideally solar and storage.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of electricity grid planning/operations and the UK/IRL Grid Codes and relevant ENA Engineering Recommendations (e.g. G99) and able to communicate complex and technical information and concepts to non-technical third parties.
- Electrical Design and Grid Connection Methodologies: Knowledge of the electrical design of solar PV plants and grid connection methodologies.
- HV Electrical Equipment and Control Systems: Knowledge of HV electrical equipment, control systems, SCADA, protection, and metering.
- DNO/ICP Process: Knowledge of the DNO/ICP process for embedded generator connections in the UK.
- Health and Safety Legislation: Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation with respect to electrical systems.
