Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team at WithYouWithMe. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex digital systems for fast jet, UAV, land, and naval platforms.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading aerospace and defence organisation, delivering Firmware that meets challenging future customer requirements. You will work closely with experts in their field, using world-class facilities to develop Firmware for complex digital systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Firmware for complex digital systems
  • Work with a team of engineers to deliver Firmware that meets customer requirements
  • Use or develop team leadership skills to support the delivery of work
  • Enhance processes and ways of working across UK-wide FPGA/Firmware delivery teams

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of UK residency
  • Ability to achieve full SC security clearance

Desirable Skills

  • Team leadership
  • Design tools such as Xilinx, TCL, Verilog, System Verilog, and UVM
  • FPGA architectures such as Xilinx 7, Xilinx UltraScale, Intel (Altera), or Microsemi (Actel)
  • Fast interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, and JESD
  • Auto-generated code using model-driven engineering using Matlab and Simulink tools
  • Derivation of detailed FPGA/Firmware requirements and architecture from system requirements
  • A structured approach to FPGA/firmware design (RTCA DO-254 or similar)
  • Cryptography and anti-tamper techniques
  • Artificial Intelligence including machine learning and genetic algorithms
  • Electronics test methods and equipment
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Working in mixed discipline teams
