Legal Department Overview
The Legal team oversees the company's legal matters, from compliance to litigation, collaborating with various departments such as Sales, Operations, Human Resources, and Innovation. Our team works closely with external law firms to create a comprehensive legal strategy, managing these partnerships to address issues efficiently. Unlike many organizations where legal roles are purely advisory, Vantage empowers our legal professionals to directly influence business decisions, aligning legal strategies with long-term operational goals, risk management, and cost efficiency.
Position Overview
This position can be based in any of our US locations.
The Leasing Attorney provides legal support for client agreements across North America, including data center leases, service agreements, tenant order forms, and related documentation. This role requires not only exceptional legal expertise but also a proactive, business-oriented mindset, a comprehensive perspective, and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in data centers or related technology, experience in-house or at a law firm, strong business acumen, and a passion for business growth.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Guidance and Negotiation:
- Offer legal guidance and negotiation expertise for data center transactions across North America.
- Draft and negotiate various agreements with hyperscalers, large wholesale, and enterprise clients, including tenant order forms, change orders, non-disclosure agreements, letters of intent, and service agreements.
- Prepare summaries and abstracts of client agreements and provide insights on their terms.
- Review and amend after-action reports related to client agreements.
- Deliver strategic legal advice that enables Vantage to meet its business objectives while managing legal risks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather input on technical, operational, and compliance aspects of transactions.
- Serve as a strategic partner by providing practical, business-focused legal advice to various internal teams.
Contract Management and Compliance:
- Assist in developing and updating client-related agreement templates.
- Conduct legal analysis of client agreements to support business development and financing transactions.
- Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements related to client agreements.
Client Relationship Management:
- Manage all legal matters concerning client relationships.
- Support the development and implementation of improvements in the client negotiation process.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
Education:
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school and admission to a State Bar.
- Working knowledge of commercial real estate.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant legal experience.
- Experience in the data center industry is strongly preferred.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Additional Information
- Salary Range: $155,000 - $165,000 Base + Bonus.
- This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, short and long-term disability coverage, paid time off, and participation in a 401k program.
