As a Strategic Hydrogeologist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of groundwater management across our operational regions. Your expertise will contribute to the development of effective strategies that ensure the availability and sustainability of our water resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the formulation of a comprehensive long-term groundwater strategy, ensuring its seamless integration into water resource planning and regulatory frameworks.
- Engage in strategic planning initiatives and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to explore future supply options while managing regulatory relationships.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with groundwater output and quality, conducting thorough risk evaluations and aligning remediation efforts with industry standards.
- Provide specialized knowledge and operational support for challenges related to groundwater quality and yield, assisting hydrogeologists and internal teams.
- Design and execute groundwater studies, oversee asset management plans, and serve as a technical authority for capital maintenance projects aimed at optimizing water resource use.
- Work alongside regulators and external partners, offering expert guidance and crafting innovative solutions to address water resource challenges, including assessments and forecasting groundwater availability.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Hydrogeology, with a preference for professional membership in relevant organizations (e.g., Geological Society, CIWEM).
- In-depth knowledge of drinking water service operations and UK water regulations.
- Exceptional analytical and communication skills for interpreting complex data and conveying insights effectively.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate across teams and foster relationships with regulators and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Valid UK driving license.
We offer a competitive salary range of £47,500 to £54,500 along with an attractive benefits package, including:
