About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Nurse to join our Safeguarding Adults Team at Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the application and delivery of the national and local safeguarding adult's agenda across the Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational and management leadership and support to the Safeguarding Adults Team.
  • Work closely with the Head and Deputy Head of Safeguarding to ensure that the Trust meets its responsibilities under relevant legislation for Safeguarding Adults.
  • Develop and implement safeguarding processes and procedures to ensure the Trust provides quality, safe care in respect of adults.
  • Provide clinical leadership, professional support, and specialized advice to staff and partner agencies in relation to safeguarding.
  • Embed the Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of Liberties Safeguards (DoLS) agenda across the organization.
  • Represent the Trust at interagency meetings and develop working partnerships with partner organizations.
  • Work closely with the Trust's Patient Safety and Governance Team to ensure that safeguarding investigations are robustly conducted.
Requirements
  • Current Professional Registration: RGN / RN / RMN.
  • ENB 998 or related teaching qualification.
  • Recognized leadership training.
  • Post-registration training in safeguarding adults.
  • Degree level essential.
  • Significant adult safeguarding experience.
  • Experience of leading and managing teams/individuals.
  • Experience of multi-agency working.
  • Experience of delivering safeguarding training.
  • Able to undertake investigations/serious incidents/case reviews.
