Pontoon Solutions is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Front Office eTrading Developer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing high-performance trading systems that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop high-performance trading components using Java, with a focus on multi-threading, low latency, and high performance.
  • Utilize your expertise in Linux, UNIX, and Agile methodologies to develop robust systems with an emphasis on performance, supportability, and maintainability.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including developers, support, and front office teams, to ensure effective coordination and delivery of tasks.
  • Employ excellent development practices, including pairing, code reviews, unit testing, and regression testing.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and debugging skills on Linux/Windows using gdb and other profiling tools.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Science or Engineering.
  • Proven ability to work independently and exhibit strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively document and communicate issues.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize multiple tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Solid development experience in complex application development using Java, with a background in multi-threaded implementation and low-latency messaging.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills and the ability to coordinate tasks with different stakeholder groups, showing proactiveness and high motivation.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience working in Fixed Income eTrading technology.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile development practices, with a focus on writing thorough and testable code.
  • Familiarity with message-oriented middleware such as 29 West/Solace/AMPS/RV.
