Job Title: Safe Spaces Team Leader - Children & Young People (CYP)

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Team Leader to lead our Safe Spaces service, providing crisis support to children and young people. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering one-to-one crisis support, supervising a team of Crisis Support Workers, and ensuring the effective running of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of Crisis Support Workers to ensure the effective running of the Safe Spaces service.
  • Deliver one-to-one crisis support to young people face-to-face or over the telephone.
  • Provide day-to-day supervision and support of Crisis Support Workers.
  • Lead shifts, including organizing rotas/covering absences, leading team meetings and handovers, and taking responsibility for health & safety.
  • Manage any issues on shift, such as safeguarding and serious incidents, escalating as necessary and following all required procedures.
  • Support the Service Lead in a range of duties, including the management of safeguarding concerns, interviewing, reporting, client feedback procedures, and auditing records.
  • Deliver one-to-one support sessions to young people in mental health crisis in a recovery-focused and person-centered way.
  • Offer outreach sessions within the community, such as at care homes, community centers, schools, and in client homes.
  • Assist in risk assessments with multi-disciplinary staff, highlighting any changes in clients' presentation relevant to their safety plan and feedback accordingly.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have experience in crisis support work, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a passion for supporting vulnerable young people. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team and manage competing priorities.
