Join our team of experts in the Finance department as a Cost Analyst - Engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and managing costs associated with engineering projects and activities. Your goal will be to ensure cost efficiency without compromising on quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct detailed cost analysis of engineering projects, identifying cost drivers and opportunities for reduction.
- Develop and manage budgets for engineering projects, ensuring alignment with overall financial objectives.
- Create and maintain cost forecasts, providing accurate and timely information to support strategic decision making within the engineering function.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to identify and implement cost-saving measures and financial insights to proposed process improvements.
- Provide cost engineering support for new product development, from concept through to implementation, ensuring that cost targets are met.
- Work closely with procurement, other finance colleagues, engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated cost management across departments.
- Identify cost-related risks in engineering projects and develop mitigation strategies to ensure financial control.
- Support finance business partner with tracking of actual costs throughout the month, providing visibility of actual cost impact from specific products/projects.
- Work with ERP development team to review and improve methods of collating and presenting cost data.
- Provide KPI matrix for cost targets, measuring departments' performance against budget stretch reduction commitments, challenging stakeholders where necessary.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting of insourcing projects.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in cost engineering processes and tools.
- Engineering background or motorsport/F1 experience.
- Working knowledge of engineering processes, principles, and methodologies and ability to convert these into meaningful financial data and insights.
- Ability to interpret part drawings and convert to meaningful financial data.
- High professional standards including quality of work, accuracy, and attention to detail.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Power BI.
