Job Overview

THIS POSITION IS TEMPORARY DUE TO FUNDING

The HPSS Directorate is committed to providing outstanding public health services through effective management and innovative approaches. We are currently looking for a dedicated and skilled Program Support Coordinator to become a vital part of our energetic team. This essential role focuses on assisting our Project and Programme Managers across three significant initiatives within the directorate.

As a Program Support Coordinator, you will be instrumental in ensuring the effective implementation of major procurement processes, operational excellence strategies, and high-level public health initiatives. Your contributions will be key in upholding the efficiency, effectiveness, and superior standards of our programs. You will collaborate closely with Programme Managers, business managers, and specialized teams to fulfill our mission of delivering Exceptional Public Health Services.

Key Responsibilities

Support for Major Procurement Initiatives:

- Assist the Programme Manager in orchestrating a thorough work program for major procurements.

- Collaborate with seasoned business managers and the specialized procurement team.

- Ensure the timely and effective management of procurements throughout the directorate.

Support for Operational Excellence Initiatives:

- Aid the Programme Manager in formulating, executing, and continually enhancing operational excellence strategies.

- Ensure that services, systems, and processes are delivered efficiently and effectively to the highest standards.

- Propel the development and enhancement of operational practices within the directorate.

Support for High-Level Public Health Initiatives:

- Collaborate with the Programme Manager and an experienced Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) to review and coordinate high-level public health initiatives.

- Concentrate on the scope, development, and governance of program activities.

- Ensure robust performance and governance of matrix programs.

Job Requirements

- Proven experience in project or program support, preferably within the public health or healthcare sectors.

- Strong organizational and coordination abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the capability to work effectively with diverse teams.

- Familiarity with procurement processes and operational excellence strategies is advantageous.

- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and deliver high standards in project execution.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects

Desirable

  • Project Management qualification such as Prince 2 or equivalent

  • Developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels
