Junior DevOps Automation Engineer

Are you looking to advance your career as a DevOps Engineer? We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior DevOps Automation Engineer to join our expanding team at Wessex Water.

About the Role

As a Junior DevOps Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers' needs. You will work closely with Developers and Engineers to ensure that software development follows established processes and works as intended.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deploying product updates and identifying production issues
  • Implementing integrations that meet customer needs
  • Working with Developers and Engineers to ensure software development follows established processes
  • Maintaining and configuring source control environment, locally and in the cloud
  • Implementing industry best-practice for automated configuration, management, and security
  • Participating in problem-solving and troubleshooting for assigned applications, functional areas, or projects
  • Integrating security scanning and testing into build and deployment pipelines
  • Collaborating with Project, Platform, Developers, and Test teams to identify and resolve infrastructure, application, and testing issues
Requirements
  • Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM methodologies
  • Experience in building and deploying C#.Net applications
  • MS SQL experience
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tooling such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Octopus, TeamCity, or Jenkins
Desirable Skills
  • Experience working in DevOps or a similar role
  • Knowledge of scripting languages (particularly Bash, PowerShell, and Azure CLI)
  • Understanding of manual and automated testing and quality practices
  • Understanding of managing and configuring Windows Servers, including IIS
