About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer. As a key member of our Mechanical Design team, you will play a crucial part in delivering high-quality projects and leading junior team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and specification of all Mechanical Building Services systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation.
  • Collaborate with the BIM team to prepare models and drawings using Revit.
  • Represent the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
  • Site surveys, inspections, and monitoring of site works.
  • Report and technical note writing.
  • Adherence to quality, environmental, and governance processes.
  • Managing elements of project delivery and understanding of budget costings.
  • Reviewing progress and reporting any anomalies or changes of scope to the project lead.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified or equivalent in Building Services Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good level of computer literacy in digital tools, including IES Thermal Modelling, HevaComp, NBS, and Microsoft packages.
  • Awareness of building physics principles, including passive design solutions and fabric first approaches.
  • Competent in designing for measurement and verification, including commissioning and post-installation evaluation of performance.
  • Experience of working in a design consultancy or contractor design environment.
  • Ability to take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and operate in a proactive way.
  • Good report writing skills and experience of making presentations to clients.
