Safety Assurance Specialist Job Description

Certain Advantage is seeking a highly skilled Safety Assurance Specialist to join our team. As a Safety Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver safety analysis to enable the integration of our products onto new platforms.
  • Work closely with internal teams, external contractors, and customers to define safety boundaries and develop safety management plans.
  • Conduct hazard identification exercises, hazard management, and risk analysis to ensure the safety of our products.
  • Develop safety arguments and contribute to ALARP statements to ensure the safety of our products.
  • Provide support to internal and external project safety panels and committees.
  • Assist in the management and integration of safety activities with system engineering and design programs.
  • Liaise with other functions to derive safety requirements and hazards.
  • Work with systems teams to demonstrate satisfaction of safety requirements.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrable knowledge of UK and International system engineering processes, particularly in safety-related systems and safety assessment processes.
  • Thorough understanding and experience of how the hazard analysis process integrates with the system engineering process to influence the design.
  • Ability to deliver supporting information, including safety case reports, hazard analysis, functional failure analysis, and fault tree analysis.
  • Detailed electronic engineering experience is highly desirable, as is experience in other engineering disciplines.
  • Good verbal, written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Track record as an effective team player with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
