Role Responsibilities

MorePeople is in search of an Ecologist or Senior Ecologist to enhance their growing planning and environmental teams. This role will primarily be based in their office, where you will collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Conducting ecological surveys and preparing detailed reports to support planning applications.
  • Focusing on strategies to enhance biodiversity and promote ecological sustainability.
  • Advising project teams on relevant ecological legislation and best practices.
  • Developing mitigation and enhancement measures for various projects.
  • Managing subcontractors and representing clients in professional settings when necessary.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:
  • A degree in Ecology or a related discipline, along with a qualification from CIEEM (MCIEEM).
  • A minimum of three years of experience in ecological consultancy, with a strong background in conducting ecological surveys and preparing assessments.
  • Familiarity with the Natural England Biodiversity Metric 4.0 and expertise in identifying effective enhancement measures for various sites.
  • A solid understanding of UK and EU wildlife legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Additionally, a full driving license and access to a vehicle are essential. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is crucial, along with a commitment to health and safety practices.
