Key Responsibilities

The BIM Specialist will offer BIM support and guidance across all Transport for Wales (TfW) Infrastructure initiatives, including rail and bus projects.

  • Assist the BIM Manager and project teams in comprehending BIM requirements by formulating and integrating project information needs into the BIM Exchange Information Requirements (EIR) and evaluating BIM Execution Plan (BEP) documents.
  • Uphold BIM processes and standards by delivering training and support to TfW project teams, ensuring adherence to BIM standards ISO19650 and promoting BIM practices.
  • Facilitate Systems Engineering and Integration within projects by aiding TfW Engineers in conducting design reviews, ensuring engineering teams have access to the necessary technology for design evaluation.
  • Contribute to the development of BIM lessons learned across all stakeholders by supporting Value Engineering workshops to ensure compliance with BIM standards ISO19650 and advocating for BIM.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Possess or be pursuing a relevant qualification in Engineering, Built Environment CAD Design, BIM, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective communication and collaboration with designers, architects, contractors, and both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Practical experience with document control systems, such as Enterprise Bridge Insight (EB) or BIM software, including ProjectWise, Revit, or Navisworks.
  • Strong understanding of BIM processes in alignment with ISO19650 standards and EIR (Exchange Information Requirements).

Welsh Language Skills

Proficiency in speaking and writing Welsh would be a valuable asset to your application, though it is not a requirement for this position.
