Maintenance Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at a respected Leominster-based manufacturer. This is a full-time permanent position that requires a strong understanding of industrial equipment and a commitment to ensuring minimum downtime and maximum production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain production machinery and site equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime
  • Work closely with Health and Safety to deliver safe systems of work and promote a culture of working safely
  • Provide effective and efficient service to the Production department, reducing machine downtime and improving overall productivity
  • Conduct fault finding and installation, and perform first-line response to site and equipment breakdowns
  • Maintain Planned Preventative Maintenance and analyze issues to root cause and develop counter measures
  • Maintain maintenance documentation and stock of critical parts and consumables
  • Provide accurate information to assist in the generation of technical purchase orders
  • Undertake continuous training and development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices
Requirements:
  • Engineering and electrical qualifications
  • Prior experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of current health and safety legislation and practices
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations
  • Collaborative approach and effective communication skills
  • Problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure
