Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team at the International Society for Industrial Ecology. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing new modelling tools and approaches to characterise the existing building stock in the UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced modelling techniques to characterise the UK's building stock, including material composition and energy performance.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to identify and prioritise key interventions in the UK building sector and its supply chain that lead to a faster reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and material demand.
  • Contribute to the development of research output that informs climate change mitigation and material circularity strategies.
  • Work effectively with industrial and academic partners to ensure the successful implementation of project outcomes.

Requirements:

  • PhD in Engineering or a relevant technical field.
  • Strong modelling and analytical skills, with experience working with tools of Industrial Ecology.
  • Ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary environments and with industrial and academic partners.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills.
