Job Title: Procurement Legal Counsel
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Legal Counsel to join our team at Wex Europe. As a key member of our procurement team, you will provide legal support and guidance on procurement-related matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate vendor and third-party agreements, including technology licenses, consulting, and professional services agreements.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including procurement policies.
- Identify, manage, and escalate issues and risks arising during vendor and third-party discussions and/or negotiations.
- Provide general in-house support for legal matters concerning procurement and vendor risk management initiatives.
- Develop and maintain standard templates and playbooks for vendor agreements, and provide guidance on contracting standards, policies, and processes.
- Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for procurement and vendor risk management teams and other business owners/stakeholders.
- Present complex issues in a clear and concise manner and provide succinct results-oriented legal advice to business owners and stakeholders.
- Work closely with procurement and vendor risk management teams to develop, maintain, operationalize, and foster awareness of and compliance with policies and processes related to vendor assessment, onboarding, risk, and performance monitoring.
- Manage and resolve specific contractual queries and pre-litigation disputes related to vendor and other third-party contracts.
- Maintain a current understanding of relevant laws, regulations, industry standards, and policy trends relevant to Wex Europe products and technology.
Requirements:
- Qualified lawyer or practicing solicitor with current practicing certificate.
- Significant PQE in a well-regarded firm and/or corporation.
- Experience negotiating technology license agreements, consulting, professional services, telecom, hardware, marketing, and real estate agreements.
- Ability to project manage and gather business requirements to accomplish complex tasks with multiple stakeholders.
- Strong reviewing and drafting skills, commitment to quality through demonstrated accuracy and thoroughness.
- Ability to build strong internal relationships and to act as a legal resource for business and functional leaders globally.
- Sound judgment, ability to clearly make reasoned recommendations, ability to anticipate risk and be proactive in planning and communicating accordingly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GSuite, ability to ramp up quickly on other applications and systems, including document management systems.
What We Offer:
- Highly competitive salary between £84,000-£94,000 (dependent on experience).
- Annual company bonus.
- 40 hour week, Monday to Friday, no evenings or weekends.
