Position Overview
This role is situated within the stunning landscapes of the Chilterns National Landscape, specifically at Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve.
About the Role
Are you passionate about environmental conservation and the preservation of natural habitats? This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to significant ecological advancements while collaborating with diverse communities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement day-to-day conservation strategies, including habitat management and species monitoring.
- Oversee livestock management to ensure animal welfare and sustainable practices.
- Foster relationships with various stakeholders, including landowners and community groups, to enhance reserve management.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of management plans and records for the reserve.
- Encourage volunteer participation and build capacity to support conservation initiatives.
- Monitor visitor interactions and behaviors to promote sustainable recreational practices.
- Uphold health and safety standards for all personnel, including visitors and volunteers.
- Manage procurement processes and contracts related to reserve operations.
- Support the broader objectives of the Nature Recovery Network in collaboration with local partners.
Essential Qualifications
A valid driving license is required for this position. The role may involve occasional out-of-hours responsibilities, including livestock care and community engagement activities.
