Job Title: Data Analyst and Database Administrator

Venesky Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a skilled Data Analyst and Database Administrator to join their team for an initial 10-month contract with potential to extend. The successful candidate will work on a rate of £450-£500/day (Inside IR35) and may require on-site working initially, with potential for remote work with occasional visits to offices in Tweedbank.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Make the current project data repository accessible to the project team and add required queries/screens to allow the team to interrogate/view the data.
  • Provide Excel outputs in preparation for sharing with NHS partner organisations.
  • Extend the data structure to support import, separation, and comparison of data returned from partner organisations.
  • Create reports on financial liability/variance, member and contract stats, and data validation outcomes.
  • Advise on limitations and risk for the project data repository and manage the move to an alternative data tool where deemed necessary.
  • Work closely with the Project Manager and Business Analyst on data requirements and specifications.
  • Engage positively and professionally with the project team, internal and external subject matter experts, and stakeholder groups.
Requirements:
  • Expertise in Access DB.
  • Experience in database management (maintenance, manipulation, access, and querying) using SQL.
  • Expertise in data modelling, reporting, analysis, presentation, and visualisation.
  • Ability to apply a range of tools and techniques to collate and analyse data.
  • Experience conceiving, designing, and building dashboards using tools such as Excel and enterprise BI solutions.
  • Experience working on large projects.
  • Ability to lead on data initiatives, develop a plan, and influence and negotiate with colleagues and stakeholders to implement the plan.
  • Must be able to support moving to Apex Oracle after Excel.
  • Data analysis qualification.
