About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Site Engineering Authority team at BAE Systems. As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering assurance across the site, ensuring that all work is compliant with statutory requirements, site license conditions, and business processes.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct site and asset walk-arounds to ensure compliance with site license and authorizing conditions.
  2. Deliver engineering documentation to support asset and facility readiness, ensuring that all work meets program and legislative requirements.
  3. Understand new requirements across the business and support requirements captures to ensure asset and facility performance meets program and legislative requirements.
  4. Provide engineering assurance across projects, operations, and maintenance.
  5. Be responsible for asset management across defined assets, ensuring that all assets are maintained throughout their lifecycle.
  6. Identify opportunities to improve processes and support the site modification process.
  7. Verify engineering calculations, analysis, designs, and other documentation to ensure compliance and validity.
Requirements
  1. Degree in an engineering discipline is essential.
  2. Experience with asset management and facilities management.
  3. Experience with management of nuclear classified systems, including design, operation, and/or modifications.
  4. Experience in related industries, such as nuclear, oil, and gas, would be advantageous.
