About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Engineer to join our team at UBDS Group. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing market-leading Cyber Security solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Consulting: Deliver security consulting engagements, including reviewing, improving, and further securing cloud architecture.
  • Security Guidance: Provide security guidance and drive infrastructure decisions in collaboration with other technical and management teams.
  • Vulnerability Assessment: Conduct vulnerability assessments of cloud assets, deliver remediation recommendations, and provide knowledgeable assistance in resolving identified vulnerabilities.
  • Security Monitoring: Monitor and analyze security logs and events, and respond to security incidents in a timely manner.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that security requirements are incorporated into system and network design, development, and implementation processes.
  • Security Assessments: Conduct regular security assessments on controls and policies to iterate and improve the security posture.
  • Training and Education: Educate internal and external users of security technologies to continually improve the knowledge and skill-base of the organization on how best to operate and support the technology and security services.
  • Product Evaluation: Participate in the evaluation and selection of security service products.
About You
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in system security engineering, network security, endpoint/infrastructure security.
  • Security Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of, and ensuring compliance to, security standards and regulations including GDS Technology Code of Practice, NCSC Cyber Principles, ISO27001, SoC, NIST, PCI, and GDPR.
  • Security Tools: Hands-on experience with security technologies, SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR, NDR, network forensics, antivirus, and vulnerability scanning tools.
  • Cloud Experience: Up-to-date understanding of testing the security of software and infrastructure using appropriate security tools including automated cloud-based tooling.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Teamwork: High energy level and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Cyber Security Tools: Hands-on experience with cyber security tools and solutions.
  • Threat Intelligence: Understanding of the MITRE ATT&CK framework and emerging threat actor tactics, techniques, and procedures.
  • Microsoft Security: Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, Logic Apps, Power Automate, Defender for Endpoint/Cloud/XDR/Identity, and Azure Security Centre.
  • Certifications: Microsoft Security certifications such as SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, and AZ-500 would be desirable.
