We are collaborating with Interaction - Cambridge to find a talented Senior Pastry Specialist to enhance their culinary team.

In this role, you will support the Head Chef and Executive Head Chef in maintaining exceptional standards of food preparation and presentation within the Catering Department. You will be responsible for efficiently managing a designated section of the kitchen, ensuring it meets the high standards established by senior culinary staff.


Key Responsibilities:


Your primary duties will include producing high-quality pastry items for a diverse clientele, including students, staff, and commercial customers. This encompasses a variety of offerings such as desserts, pastry products, and artisan breads.

You will also provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members within the pastry section, fostering their development and enhancing team performance.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Catering & Hospitality (Food Preparation & Cooking: Patisserie and Confectionery) or an equivalent qualification obtained through an apprenticeship.
  • Valid Food Hygiene certification.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a commercial kitchen, with at least one year in a similar position.
  • Experience in high-volume catering, including conferences and banquets, is advantageous.
  • Ability to manage and lead a team within the pastry section.
  • Skills in cost-effective ordering and menu planning.

Salary:
£29,018 per annum (inclusive of bonus)
