About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Building Surveyor to join our Project & Programme Services team. As an Associate Building Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering some of the UK's most significant projects across various sectors, including retail, health, energy, commercial property, education, and public sectors.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering refurbishment, improvement, and modernisation projects.
- Undertake feasibility studies, produce specifications, obtain estimates, and administer contracts for refurbishment projects.
- Apply standard forms of building contract, such as JCT and NEC.
- Mentor and train Building Surveyors and provide Supervisor support to Junior Surveyors on the RICS APC programme.
- Support senior managers in their day-to-day activities and line manage junior Building Surveying staff.
- Carry out surveys, inspections, schedules, and provide professional services, as well as managing regional schemes.
- Develop new business opportunities, including preparation and submission of bids.
Requirements
- A B.Sc. (Hons) in Building Surveying or a similar RICS accredited degree.
- Chartered status is essential.
- Sound technical surveying knowledge and significant building surveying experience.
- Experience managing clients with a strong understanding of profitability, business development, and commercial awareness.
- Experience in mentoring, training, and coaching team members.
- Experience managing workloads and projects.
- Sound knowledge of drafting technical documents, including clients' requirements, asset reviews, feasibility studies, specifications, and drawings.
- Full understanding of Health and Safety requirements and Statutory Compliance.
- Specific Technical Skillsets to meet specialist Professional Building Surveying service requirements, such as Dilapidations, Party Wall, Fire Risk, and Access Assessments.
- Excellent time management, punctuality, and commitment to getting the job done.
