About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Manual Lathe Machinist to join our team at our UK manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in operating manual machines, contributing to the production of our high-quality heat exchangers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate various manual machines, including the Colchester lathe, to exacting standards.
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings to ensure precision and accuracy.
  • Use precision measurement tools such as micrometers and vernier calipers to ensure quality control.
  • Ensure the workspace meets 5S cleanliness and organization standards to maintain efficiency.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to ensure the longevity of equipment and minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate effectively with the team to meet production targets and achieve business objectives.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues that could impact equipment performance and implement solutions.
  • Maintain accurate work order documentation to ensure compliance and transparency.
  • Safely handle and operate a variety of hand and power tools to minimize risk and ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a similar manual machinist role is essential.
  • Familiarity with gauge Faro arms is an advantage.
  • Experience with horizontal boring is beneficial.
  • Ability to work with precision tools and equipment to achieve high-quality results.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Basic math, reading, and writing skills required.
  • Positive attitude and a strong commitment to punctuality and attendance.
