Job Title: Configuration Engineering Manager

Leonardo UK is a leading player in the development of advanced tactical sensing, data fusion, communications, machine learning, and defensive aids systems. We are seeking a highly skilled Configuration Engineering Manager to join our team in Lincoln, UK.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a seasoned Configuration Engineering Manager to lead our configuration management activities across all lifecycle phases of our programmes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in configuration management, software configuration management, and model-based configuration management. They will be responsible for driving a proactive approach to configuration management, supporting the Head of Configuration and Data Management, and resolving configuration management issues within Integrated Project Teams (IPTs).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Drive a proactive approach to configuration management into IPTs
  2. Support the Head of Configuration and Data Management in encouraging new ideas and innovative solutions into IPTs and the Line of Business (LoB)
  3. Resolve configuration management issues within IPTs by making proposals and driving through solutions
  4. Provide configuration management basis of estimate (BoE) into work packages
  5. Build and manage customer and supplier relationships
  6. Demonstrate self-management and support the development of other team members when required
  7. Develop and promote knowledge and use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and associated engineering tools
  8. Work hand-in-hand with our engineering delivery teams to ensure the project dataset is maintained and configuration controlled
Requirements:
  1. A good understanding of configuration management in accordance with DEF STAN 05-57
  2. Excellent practical understanding of the five key elements of configuration management:
    1. Configuration management planning, including generation and review of CM plan
    2. Configuration identification
    3. Change control - must have had experience in operating change control boards, including configuration status input to the board
    4. Configuration status accounting, with emphasis on the generation of configuration baselines
    5. Verification and audit (led FCA/PCA)
  3. Experience with software configuration management at the point of release into the product structure
  4. A broad understanding of configuration control during software development
  5. Provided C&DM input to design reviews and certification (configuration baseline management)
  6. Configuration management experience in the development of safety-critical products
  7. Use of product management tools (essential) - Teamcenter version 13 (Unified) and SAP (desired)
Desirable Skills:
  1. Sufficient knowledge to support the Head of C&DM in the continued development of model-based configuration management processes
  2. Ability to conduct verification audits on software
  3. Dimensions administration
Security Clearance:

Due to the nature of our products, you must be able to achieve UK Security Clearance (SC) and be authorized to access UK-Eyes-Only and ITAR material.
