We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled researcher to join our team at the UK Research and Innovation's National Quantum Computing Centre (NQCC). As a Quantum Computing Researcher, you will be part of a dynamic team working on the development of ion trap quantum computing systems.
Key Responsibilities:- Contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of ion trap quantum computing systems
- Develop and implement software and experimental control systems
- Communicate progress and discuss results with NQCC scientists
- Represent the NQCC at STFC and external events with commercial and academic partners and collaborators
- Achieved, or be on course to achieve, a minimum 2:1 degree in a relevant field of study
- Have the right to live and work in the UK at time of starting employment
- A demonstrable interest in quantum science and technology
- Experience in working in a laboratory, particularly with optics, lasers, or high-voltage supplies
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Experience working in a team and able to demonstrate autonomy within their area of responsibility
- Experience in programming in Python (or similar languages)
- Technical knowledge in quantum computing
