We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic individual to assist our drivers with the delivery and transportation of goods. As a Driver's Mate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of items, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a high level of professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist drivers with loading and unloading goods from vehicles.
  • Verify delivery sheets to ensure all items are accounted for.
  • Secure goods properly to prevent damage during transit.
  • Plan routes and navigate, advising drivers on diversions.
  • Confirm delivery times with customers via phone.
  • Unload goods at the delivery point and place items as requested by customers.
  • Obtain delivery signatures and process payments if required.
  • Perform minor vehicle maintenance and cleaning tasks.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, especially when handling hazardous materials.

Requirements:

  • Good physical fitness and ability to lift heavy items.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Valid driver's license (optional, but beneficial).

Working Conditions:

May involve weekend work. Work can be physically demanding and may involve working outdoors in various weather conditions.
