Assistant Quantity Surveyor

About the Role:
The Assistant Quantity Surveyor is a key position within Chevron Traffic Management, supporting the commercial and senior management team in ensuring efficient contract delivery and exceeding budgeted performance.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing costs and suggesting journal requests as needed
- Review monthly management accounts and key performance information
- Monitor and maintain data within the Company Inhouse Works Management System
- Ensure timely and accurate billing of works
- Manage the Early Warning and Compensation Event process
- Manage client disputes
- Create in-contract pricing, estimates, and quotations
- Assist with recovering aged debt and cash collection
- Help prepare revenue reports and monthly management accounts
- Contribute to the overall management of commercial aspects of all contracts, including ensuring costs and revenue in correct periods
Requirements:
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Experience working within a commercial setting
- Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software, especially Excel
- Confident in working with an IT/Digital system-led solution to commercial management
- Ability to build new and existing relationships with clients and suppliers
- Full UK driving license
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge and experience of Temporary Traffic Management
- Good understanding of the NEC form of Contract
- Understanding of management accounts and financial reporting processes
- Previous demonstrable experience in quantity surveying
