About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Respite Nurse to join our team at James Hopkins Trust. As a Respite Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to children and families in need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide holistic care to children and families, working in partnership with them to meet their individual needs.
  • Actively encourage a family atmosphere at Kites Corner, promoting a sense of community and support.
  • Recognise the skills and experience of families in meeting the care needs of their children, working collaboratively to provide exceptional care.
  • Ensure all medication is accurately and safely administered, recorded, and stored.
  • Provide care to children during agreed periods of respite, identifying and following their care routines and established patterns of care.
  • Attend multi-professional meetings and liaise with other professionals as necessary, ensuring seamless care and support for children and families.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Requirements
  • Registered Children's Nurse or RNC/RN with Paediatric Experience.
  • Live entry on NMC Register.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to maintain boundaries, and flexibility in working on own initiative.
  • Competent in drug calculations and willingness to learn and undertake appropriate training.
  • Proven experience of communicating sensitively in challenging situations with patients and families.
