Position Overview

Tate & Lyle Sugars is a leading global player in the sugar refining and marketing industry, renowned for its extensive production capabilities and diverse product offerings.

We are currently in search of a Senior Procurement Lead who will oversee the procurement operations for Direct Materials, Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO), Capital Expenditures (CAPEX), and Services.

Key Responsibilities

In this pivotal role, you will:

  • Foster Collaborative Relationships: Build and sustain effective partnerships between the procurement team and internal stakeholders.
  • Drive Strategic Sourcing: Collaborate with subject matter experts to identify and secure new supply sources for assigned categories, including packaging and ingredients.
  • Enhance Supplier Relationships: Develop and implement a robust supplier relationship management program to improve supplier performance and value contributions.
  • Support Corporate Objectives: Assist in achieving short, medium, and long-term goals at the asset level.
  • Refine Procurement Processes: Establish core processes, standard operating procedures, and category management strategies.
  • Leverage Market Opportunities: Provide commercial insights and execute strategies to capitalize on market trends.
  • Negotiate Contracts: Exhibit expertise in contract negotiations, pricing analysis, and market forecasting.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Extensive leadership experience in procurement, preferably within a fast-paced production environment.
  • A strong background in coaching and mentoring team members for performance and career growth.
  • Exceptional commercial acumen, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • The ability to proactively address quality and commercial challenges with vendors and internal clients.
  • Experience in purchasing, contract law, lean methodologies, benchmarking, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel skills.
