Role Overview:
As a Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for the monitoring and enforcement of designated regulatory domains. Your duties will encompass providing recommendations regarding violations, offering resolution guidance, and engaging in event-driven activities.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Conduct thorough investigations into a diverse range of unauthorized compliance issues, including those related to heritage sites, environmental concerns, and resource management, adhering to established national and local regulatory frameworks.
2. Utilize your extensive knowledge of regulatory practices to assess complex situations and determine appropriate resolutions, which may involve formal or informal actions.
Site Investigations:
Carry out site assessments, occasionally outside of standard working hours, including emergency situations, after conducting comprehensive background research to ascertain any regulatory breaches.
Creative Problem Solving:
Employ innovative and effective solutions to address a variety of compliance issues, some of which may present significant challenges. You will also be responsible for advising on the necessity of formal actions and executing relevant enforcement measures to rectify breaches.
Evidence Preparation:
Compile and organize evidence, prepare statements, and conduct interviews in accordance with applicable legal standards, ensuring meticulous maintenance of both manual and electronic records of all investigations.
Qualifications:
A degree-level qualification in a relevant field or substantial experience in an investigative or regulatory role, along with a solid understanding of compliance practices, procedures, and legislation.
Expertise Required:
Demonstrable experience in a regulatory compliance role, including the ability to represent an organization in compliance inquiries and the preparation and interpretation of compliance documentation. A comprehensive understanding of regulatory practices, including those related to heritage conservation and environmental management, is essential.
Advanced knowledge of various planning disciplines, including policy development, resource management, and compliance enforcement, is also required.
