This position involves overseeing shifts, developing individualized support plans for young residents, and fostering their well-being in accordance with the Children Act 1989. Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties:
- Engage directly with young residents, providing key working support and actively participating in care on a shift basis.
- Collaborate with young individuals, their social workers, caregivers, and other relevant organizations to coordinate, monitor, and evaluate Care Plans, risk assessments, and placement strategies, facilitating positive transitions towards independence.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining the establishment's health and safety standards, making independent decisions regarding individual young residents' requests and behaviors during shifts.
- Handle administrative tasks and maintain accurate records related to key working responsibilities and the daily operations of the home.
- Empower young residents to take responsibility for their lives, keeping them informed of their circumstances and rights, involving them in life planning, and supporting their journey towards greater autonomy.
- Lead a shift effectively.
Household Duties:
- Participate in practical activities necessary for the upkeep of the residence.
- Ensure the care of the building, equipment, and overall environment.
- Be accountable for funds allocated for specific purposes.
- Report maintenance issues and ensure timely resolutions.
- Ensure young residents are provided with nutritious and balanced meals prepared by staff.
- Conduct health and safety checks in compliance with policies and regulatory standards.
Professional Development:
- Stay informed about best practices to enhance skills, knowledge, and experience in line with a personal development plan.
- Utilize regular professional supervision for guidance and support.
- Report any malpractice or concerns to a line manager or appropriate authority.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Perform any other reasonable duties as assigned by management.
- Work shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required on a rotating basis.
- Exhibit flexibility to work at other SuperCare locations as directed by management.
