Financial Accounting Leadership Opportunity

Orka Financial is seeking a seasoned financial accounting professional to lead our financial reporting efforts. As Head of Financial Accounting, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of all regulatory reports, including interim and year-end financial accounts. You will also oversee the production of monthly management accounts, balance sheet, and cash flow delivery, as well as ensure compliance with statutory returns and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Expertise in technical accounting matters, providing a framework for analysis and impact assessment
  • Control of the Chart of Accounts and project management of interim and year-end external audits
  • Responsible for maintaining up-to-date financial accounting records and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting the month-end process with balance sheet and cash flow delivery
  • Acting as a driver of Value for Money across the organization
  • Preparation of statutory financial accounts, achieving audit clearance, and submission to the Boards in line with agreed timetables
  • Production of accurate investor and lender reports
  • Ensuring consistent application of accounting standards throughout the group
  • Management of Corporation Tax, VAT, and other relevant taxes, ensuring compliance and reporting
  • Leading, managing, and developing a small team
Requirements:
  • Full accountancy qualification (ACA, CA, ACCA, IPFA, CIMA)
  • Strong technical competence and experience in statutory, financial, and management accounting
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Basic understanding of VAT and corporation tax matters
  • Thorough understanding of current accounting practices and best practice standards within the sector
  • Experience in managing and developing small teams
What We Offer:

£70,000 - £80,000 + bonus + benefits
