Position Overview:

Lead Commercial Surveyor required for a prominent Tier 1 Main Contractor specializing in large-scale educational projects valued between £30-£50 million.

Key Responsibilities:

As the Lead Commercial Surveyor, you will take charge of the commercial aspects of new construction projects, including sectors such as education, healthcare, and leisure.

  • Act as the primary commercial representative on-site, ensuring the financial success of the projects from procurement through to final accounting.
  • Prepare and issue sub-contract tender packages, conducting thorough evaluations of submissions.
  • Oversee initial contract negotiations to secure favorable commercial outcomes.
  • Manage a well-established network of supply chain subcontractors.
  • Evaluate contract risks and collaborate with the site team to formulate and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Participate in both internal and external commercial review meetings.
Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in managing new build construction projects.
  • Knowledge of both JCT and NEC contract frameworks.
  • A degree in a construction-related discipline.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a proactive approach.
