Assistant Technical Manager Opportunity

Alexander Steele Recruitment is partnering with a leading food business to find an exceptional candidate for an Assistant Technical Manager role at their site in Bedfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers and provide technical support to ensure their quality standards are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including quality, commercial, procurement, NPD, and operations, to uphold the company's quality standards.
  • Utilize QMS daily with confidence and create weekly KPI reports to track progress.
  • Manage specification, artwork, and label approval processes.
  • Visit suppliers to ensure quality standards are met and support technical projects.
  • Maintain customer portals and systems up to date and ensure they are properly maintained.

Requirements:

  • Hold a degree in Food Technology/Science or recognized food safety qualifications.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Food Safety Systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of the UK food industry and legislation is essential.
  • HACCP knowledge and other appropriate professional qualifications are required.
  • Ability to multitask, work well under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, and influencing skills.
  • Numerate, literate, and intermediate IT skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
