About the Role

NFU Mutual's Finance Division is seeking a highly skilled Risk Management Specialist to support the Operational Risk Framework.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the management of operational risks and controls for the Finance Division, ensuring an effective operational risk management approach is in place.

This includes facilitating, monitoring, and reporting on departmental risks and issues, embedding an appropriate risk framework and culture, and supporting the development of risk management strategies.

The Risk Management Specialist will also serve as the Risk Information Officer for multiple departments within the division, conducting regular meetings to discuss existing risks, controls, metrics, and managing identified risks through the lessons learned process.

This role requires a strong understanding of operational risk management, with experience in developing and implementing controls and processes.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders and influence decision making.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the development and implementation of risk management strategies
  • Coordinating the management of operational risks and controls
  • Facilitating regular meetings with departmental stakeholders to discuss risks and controls
  • Monitoring and reporting on departmental risks and issues
  • Embedding an appropriate risk framework and culture
  • Supporting the development of risk management strategies

About You

We are seeking a professional with extensive knowledge and experience in operational risk management, along with a proven track record in developing and implementing controls and processes.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in operational risk management
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and controls
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to influence decision making and collaborate with senior stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
