Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at Farmfoods. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day operations of our shop, working closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the smooth running of the business.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Shop Manager in the overall management of the shop, including staff supervision, customer service, and stock control.
- Develop and implement effective strategies to drive sales growth and improve customer satisfaction.
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of Retail Assistants, providing coaching, mentoring, and feedback to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
- Take ownership of the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, ensuring that customers receive excellent service, deliveries are processed efficiently, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy environment.
- Monitor and control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll, to ensure the shop is operating within budget.
- Support the Shop Manager with recruitment and induction of new team members, ensuring a smooth onboarding process.
- A friendly, positive, and hardworking approach to work, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience as a manager, team leader, or supervisor in a retail environment, with a proven track record of success.
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and evenings, to meet the needs of the business.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions and take ownership of issues.
- Passion for delivering exceptional customer service and a commitment to providing a positive shopping experience.
