About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented QC Associate Scientist to join our team in Basingstoke. As a key member of our Quality Control team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of our products.

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform Quality Control Testing following specified test specifications and methods.
  2. Conduct microbiological testing and media preparation.
  3. Complete out-of-specification reports and assist with investigations.
  4. Maintain training records and ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  5. Plan, track, and control the progress of products under test.
  6. Alert the QC Team Leader to any potential problems or failures.
  7. Record test results within the SAP Quality Management module.
  8. Conduct equipment checks and audits to ensure a safe working environment.
  9. Ensure cleanliness, waste management, and consumable replenishment.
  10. Operate autoclaves efficiently and effectively.
Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
  1. Foster effective working relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure collaborative success.
  2. Work closely with the QC Manager, QC Team Leader, QC Lead Scientist, QA, Manufacturing Sciences, Production, Customer Services, and Planning departments.
  3. Prioritize finished product and raw material testing under the guidance of senior team members.
  4. Engage in continuous improvement using PPI lean methodology to enhance departmental and business processes.
  5. Utilize PPI processes to solve problems and improve quality.
  6. Exemplify the organization's values in decision-making and day-to-day operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
  1. Qualification in a relevant scientific discipline.
  2. Experience in Quality Control Testing, particularly in microbiological methods.
  3. Proficient in using SAP or similar Quality Management systems.
  4. Familiarity with GMP and Quality Systems.
  5. Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  7. Adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
Benefits:
  1. Competitive hourly rate: £12.64.
  2. Temporary to permanent opportunity.
  3. Monday to Thursday working hours 8.00am - 4.00pm/9.00am - 5.00pm, with an early finish on Fridays at 2:30 pm.
  4. Parking available.
